This position is located in Converged Infrastructure (JNDI), Infrastructure Services (JND), Enterprise Technology Operations Services (JN), Information Technology (J), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
The purpose of this position is to serve as an IT specialist performing duties associated with Active Directory, Federation Services, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Group Policy, AGPM, ADCS (Certificate Services/PKI) and IPv6.

As an IT Specialist (Systems Administration/Operating Systems), you will:

- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period.
- Occasionally called outside regularly scheduled hours for consultation related to computer operations, equipment failure or program revisions.
- At times must come in to give assistance in correcting problems. Will be required to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- This position requires a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

To meet this requirement you must demonstrate proficiency in each of the four competencies listed above as follows:
GS-13: Advanced - You can perform the actions associated with each of these competencies without assistance. You are recognized within your immediate organization as "a person to ask" when difficult questions arise regarding each of these competencies. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in 1) analyzing, developing, and implementing Server operating systems; 2) testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Server operating systems, hardware and software systems; 3) performing a variety of work involving planning, development, implementation, and administration of Server operating systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data; and 4) performing duties associated with Active Directory, Federation Services, domain name system (DNS), dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), IP address management (IPAM), Group Policy, (advance group policy management (AGPM), active directory certificate services (ADCS), or internet protocol version 6 (IPv6).
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
