This position is located in the Food and Beverage Division in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a catering waiter/waitress for banquets, conferences, special events, and private parties. Providing food and beverage service as required.

Duties

Performs necessary preparations in assigned area prior to opening the dining room such as;

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation.
• Must be able to handle objects that weigh up to 20 lbs.

Qualifications

Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence. Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct side to serve from and the correct side to remove from. Knowledge of the composition of all food items on the menu, whether American or Foreign; the available beverages and wines and which wines complement specific meals and their proper serving temperatures. Skill in proper table setting techniques. Knowledge of simple math calculations in order to tabulate checks. Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.
