Duties
Typical work assignments will include:
Maintaining district-wide responsibility for testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance, and management of networked systems used to transit information in data, voice, and/or video format.
Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
Planning, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet, intranet, and extranet activities, including technical management of websites.
Providing customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications
Basic Requirement for all applicants: All applicants must possess information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving. This experience may have been gained by performing the following types of duties: Ensuring IT systems availability, functionality integrity and efficiency; providing IT customer support; training staff in the operation and application of new, modified or expanded software applications. Your resume must clearly contain enough information demonstrating experience in the above competencies.
GS-12: In addition, to be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Installing and configuring devices and software applications; monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving operating/network systems, hardware and software issues, and taking appropriate follow-up action; managing the movement and installation of IT equipment; resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems, and implementing programs to ensure users understand systems security policies.
