You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Headquarters Group EH&S Division, of MARINE CORPS LOGISTIC COMMAND, ALBANY.

Duties

You will be responsible for day-to-day program evaluation for assigned programs. You will produce recurrent reports of the various safety programs and provide statistical analysis for various safety programs required for trend analysis. You will provide assistance in conducting investigations for Mishap and Motor Vehicle Accidents resulting in lost time and property damage by obtaining background information, extent of injuries, and estimated cost of property damage. You will analyze reports of occupational injuries, illnesses and property damage to identify causes and to determine trends; maintain database management records,; and provide appropriate data for the evaluation of occupationally related mishaps. You will review all incoming reports (Supervisor Mishap Reports, Injury Reports, Injury/Complaint Reports, etc..) for accuracy, obtaining additional information when necessary. You will compile and be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of quarterly and yearly reports stating number of accidents, number of lost workdays. You will calculate the total hours worked by command personnel for approval by the safety manager prior to submission.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with the planning, developing, and administering a Safety and Occupational Health program; AND devising innovative procedures to minimize potential for injury or property damage resulting from work related activities. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR
