You will serve as a Pipefitter Supervisor I in the Pipe Shop (Code 960), of the Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), in the Production Resources Department (Code 900), located at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as a Supv of piping layout personnel leading in the development of detailed working drawings and virtual representations of piping systems, hand tools, PCMM and CAD software to facilitate manufacturing of piping systems/products
You will use the expertise of piping layout capabilities and piping knowledge to assess engineering scopes of work for most efficient cost, schedule and quality process implementation.
You will provide oversight and expert level knowledge to subordinates while interpreting and analyzing engineering drawings, Technical Work Documents, and sketches.
You will provide final review of Non-Nuclear and Nuclear Engineering updated arrangement drawings/models to support development of off-yard correspondence.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current XXX certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Independently interpreting, validating, planning, sequencing, laying out, documenting, and assisting in constructing assemblies
Demonstrating knowledge of the Pipefitting Trade at the journeyman level, interpreting, validating, planning, sequencing, laying out, documenting, and assisting in constructing assemblies.
Performing quality assurance checks of pre-fabricated piping as well as shipboard installation to identify weak areas of team and project teams.
Supporting Fabrication/Construction/installation/Repair of nuclear and non-nuclear piping systems/components on various naval vessels.
Developing detailed working drawings and virtual representations of piping systems using engineering drawings, traditional hand tools, Portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (PCMM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to facilitate manufacturing of piping systems/products.
