The primary purpose of a Supervisory Store Associate is to Serve as a Supervisory Store Associate in a commissary which utilizes the workforce of the future structure. in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility.
Duties
Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control.
Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves.
Meat display and case stocking.
Produce inspection display and rotation.
Accounts maintenance, supply and computer operations.
This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. However, promotion is neither guaranteed nor automatic.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience showing knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operation (specialized experience) equivalent to at least GS-5. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) basic requirement and qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: (1) Work involves frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance; heavier items are moved with assistance from other workers or by using weight-handling equipment. (2) Work also involves prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or climbing. Performance of work may require exposure to hot or cold weather, or damp and drafty conditions. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.

Work environment: The supervisor must balance the workload from a fluctuating or constantly changing pool of workers. There is constant need to train new employees due to turnover and Store Associates may be located in various departments within the commissary.
