About the Position: This position is responsible managing the Battalion calendar, preparing routine and operational reports and briefings, Unit Status Reporting, tracking and processing training and the day to day operations in support of the battalion's missions, operations and ceremonies.
Duties
Maintain a short- and long-range calendar to minimize training and support conflicts within the battalion and to synchronize activities and events with subordinate companies.
Track and maintain training data through the Defense Training Management System for subordinate units.
Prepare routine operational records and reports and/or briefings as required.
Assist with the Organizational Inspection Program to conduct inspections, evaluations, and assistance events to help prepare the team.
Monitor and update the Defense Training Management System account and calendars.
Receive and distro Battalion operation and fragmentary orders to execute taskings, support requests, recurring events, special functions, ceremonies, or community relations programs.
Provide some limited training to company reps with regards to proper inputs and data collected for use in the Defense Training Management System.
Assists personnel in use of DTS and reviews all battalion DTS travel requests.
Processing training and school requests.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that includes: using automated training and travel programs such as Defense Training Management System (DTMS) and Defense Travel System (DTS); administering a training program to include calendar maintenance, planning requirements, and tracking training; and preparing fragmentary and operational orders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
