Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior professional electronics engineer with systems engineering responsibility in assigned area(s). Considered the technical expert for the organization in electronics engineering assignments concerning (insert functional area - i.e., Electronic Warfare Systems); employee provides technical leadership in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define total weapon systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications. Work encompasses several phases of the development process in which the employee guides and evaluates the design and development activities of others.
This candidate will assist lead engineers and act as subject matter experts in support of the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) (Joint Services System Management Office (JSSMO)) Program Office within the Combat Avionics Division. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) and other navigation systems. Experience in communications or electronic warfare, digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, antenna electronics or antenna design for airborne weapon systems is a plus.
DUTIES:
The candidate for these positions will serve as a senior professional engineer with systems engineering responsibility for the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Program Office (PNT-PO) User Equipment (UE) to include airborne, handheld, embedded, and inertial navigation systems. Performs systems engineering activities throughout the life cycle of the acquisition process beginning with pre-Milestone A and ending with system retirement. Candidate will support at least one ACAT I, II, or III acquisition development program for new or modernized PNT user equipment. Will be responsible for executing or assisting with developing all systems engineering documentation and executing all systems engineering processes, e.g., requirements management, technical assessment, risk management, interface management, integration, etc. Candidate will serve on program office integrated product teams (IPTs) and technical working groups required for new development programs and associated testing activities.

- This position may require travel up to 30 days a year.
- This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of this position.
- Employee is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Employee may be required to work overtime.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
1. Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
2. Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
3. Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
4. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines.
5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design
approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.
6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
Education
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an institution with an ABET accredited engineering program.
