This position is located in the Office of the Area Director. This position involves planning, development, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects, functions and activities related to Crisis Prevention Response Team (CPR-T) in concert with the Area Director, Area Deputy of Field Operations and Area Chief Medical Officer.
Management reserves the right to convert this term position to a permanent position at any time.
Duties
Responsible to the supervisor/medical leadership for ensuring that the work assignments of the IHS Crisis Prevention and Response staff are carried out by staff ensuring the workload balance among employees in in accordance with established work flow, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload; assist with the workload during times of vacancy.
Conduct audits of credential files, and review completed work to see that facility goals on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met. Conduct analysis and evaluation of data showing various trends and service indicators. The incumbent is responsible for collecting and analyzing health and medical data from multiple sources and developing comprehensive reports and statistical information to be used by management, administrative and/or medical professional personnel.
Manages the technical aspects of the computerized database of clinical providers privileging and credentialing information that resides on the network server. Is responsible for developing, planning the establishment and execution of subordinate programs/sections to assure effective coordination and integration of goals and objectives in order to accomplish overall Area goals, plans, contracts and objectives.
Provide support to health care management officials by analyzing, evaluating, advising on and/or coordinating health care delivery system and displays leadership and management skills in promoting effective program management in the development of the Area's health care delivery system. Works with other Executive Staff Team to plan, develop or recommend program plans for effective accomplishment of the Area mission, goals and objectives.
Produces reports related to the use and compliance with use of the system.

Individual Occupation Requirements
Undergraduate and Graduate Education:
Major study -- hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
or
Specialized Experience
Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems;
Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and
Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
Special Provision for Inservice Placement:
Successful completion of an agency-sponsored on-the-job training program may be substituted for qualifying experience, provided it included a formal individualized training plan. Such a training program must have been conducted in an operating health care system and included:
Assignments providing a knowledge of basic health system administration philosophies, practices, and procedures, and basic government administrative policies and requirements;
Practical assignments providing an opportunity to apply health system administration skills and principles (as the individual progresses, work assignments must be characteristic of the grade level to which he or she is assigned); and
Oversight by an experienced health system administrator with periodic evaluation of the individual's progress and appropriate adjustment of the training program.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: General office management including; preparing and distributing correspondence documents, scheduling and program planning, preparing reports from draft material and data. Providing clinical and program consultation, collaboration and/or information and education services to: medical professionals; behavioral health professionals; tribal, alcohol and other drug services; other community and service unit services. Ability to plan, develop, implement, evaluate, consult and supervise health promotion, behavioral health, alcohol and other drug services for the Area service units.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
