Duties

(cont.) matters concerning assigned customer organizations and senior executives.
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing IT customer service actions in support of DLA Distribution located at Red River, TX
Responsible for a range of customer activities, project planning and major programs, and maintains frequent communication with peers and managers within other J6 Enterprise Service Areas (ESAs).
Responsible for a wide range of IT support functions for assigned customer requirements, maintaining a detailed knowledge of customer needs related to various tailored IT products and services.
Directs immediate and fast-paced actions of all IT actions -- regardless of J-6 service area -- with the intent on providing immediate resolution to customer support issues.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) your qualifications must include:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
GS-12: In developmental capacity:
Maintains surveillance of short, midterm and long-range plans pursuant to logistics IT objectives. Ensures through vetting of customer requirements to determine the best fit for the customer and for the Agency.
Ensures reliable service delivery for all applications and systems assigned and coordinates with representatives within other agency organizations to ensure all facets of IT remain available, reliable and secure.
Always with the customer in mind, the incumbent recommends initiatives to adopt and assists in prioritizing projects and improvements.
Ensures appropriate allocation of resources to successfully complete all approved initiatives. Interprets and implements policies and directives from agency headquarters and other staff offices and communicates to the customer, the need or motivation for any changes in IT policies and procedures.
GS-13:

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
