This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1209000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.

Duties

As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), WL-2604-11, you will serve as a working leader of three or more Electronics Mechanic positions. Assigns work orders to specific crewmembers and selects workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Passes on to workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstrates proper work methods, and starts work. Insures that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Works along with other workers and sets pace performing non-supervisory repair work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led. Work performed by the incumbent involves diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on a variety of combat and tactical, and communication equipment.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. ARMY Bargaining ONLY FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 87 and the President is Mr. Michael Ortmayer at [email protected]. MILITARY GRADES: Warrant Officer/ Enlisted: E7 thru WO1 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, electrical blue prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and to assign work and monitor progress. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WL-11 must have at least 24 months Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of and skill in the repair of electronics equipment sufficient to organize and direct the work of others. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting malfunctions. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to instruct others in the use of precision measuring and test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical publications and providing guidance to others.
