You will serve as a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS WORKER in the Public Works Business Line, Production Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will perform mechanical work, and preventive maintenance to standby and emergency power generating systems.
You will troubleshoot electrical power support systems.
You will maintain, inspect, repair, diagnose, and modify Aircraft Arresting System barrier units.
You will maintain and repair installed Grounding and Lighting Protection Systems.
You will inspect newly installed equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
You will perform fabrication to modify equipment to fit local conditions.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including:
1) Installing and repairing major components (e.g., engines, generators, alternators, gears, compressors, and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical components) of powered support systems;
2) Using tools and equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gages, leak detectors to test and repair equipment;
3) Following work orders, standing operating procedures, and oral instructions to perform work on electric power distribution systems and/or powered support equipment.
