Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Utilizes CADD/GIS/BIM systems including AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Bentley Microstation, ESRI ArcGIS and other software including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Product Data Management (PDM) software such as ProjectWise and Autodesk Vault to provide support to architects and engineers by providing technical design assistance as well as producing construction plans and other engineering products.
Independently coordinates design requirements and techniques with the architect or engineer responsible for the project, other FSD offices, other Government agencies, and with Architect-Engineer firms to reach an understanding on the intent of the various aspects of the project to ensure that final drawings will meet the design needs for the project.
This position requires reviewing, evaluating, or updating various standards including WHS's official Electronic Data Standards to ensure that contractors' deliverables and Government produced drawings comply with a consistent and logical common standard based on industry and Government best practice.

- This position may require 10% occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft.
- The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime.

You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to knowledge of technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques and practices used to analyze; automated drafting techniques and conventions (i.e. CADD), and drafting skill sufficient to convey design concepts applying prescribed design criteria and standard specifications to perform architectural and structural calculations.
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: have knowledge of Architectual design to include but not limited to civil, mechanical, electrical and structural drawings; construction plans, specifications and other data; utilize Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Geospatial Information System (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques.
