Duties

You will develop and implements programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures You will develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. You will conduct systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews. You will participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policy.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring security procedures and architecture for the information systems are accurate and mediate and enforce all security policies; managing the security posture of the Automated Information System is maintained according to current security directives; conducting scans on systems to determine compliance with regulations, reviews threats and vulnerabilities to assess risks, and determine effective risk mitigation measures to help guide, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the security and continuity of automated systems operations.
