You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE GROUP (CODE 108.4), OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OFFICE (CODE 108), EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT (CODE 100) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will conduct weekly oversight compliance inspections and audit.
You will provide assistance to the Environmental Program Managers in managing the TRIRFFAC Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material, Air Waste, and Disaster preparedness programs.
You will respond to potential oil and hazardous substance spills and fill out a detailed spill check list.
You will review and provide input on draft directives originated by higher echelons.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Position requires an IT II Level Designation.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Ability to independently conduct weekly oversight compliance inspections and audits on all TRIREFFAC-KB and squadron Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA) and Temporary Collection Areas (TCA) in accordance with Federal, State and local Directives. Knowledge of Title V air Permit and HW Permit. Knowledge of Hazardous Material storage requirements to ensure shelf-life compliance, chemical compatibility, and other storage requirements are met. Ability to develop, update, and provide training/instruction both classroom and on the job training. Ability to respond and take the appropriate action to potential oil and/or hazardous substance spill and complete spill check list. Experience/knowledge of rules, regulations and instructions to ensure compliance with 40 CFR, EPA and RCRA. Ability to communicate orally or in writing to Supervisors/Division Officers/General Foreman or above for the purpose of explaining environmental requirements or actions.
