The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a training instructor.
Duties
Instruct students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels.
Apply knowledge of training principles and techniques to motivate students and make instruction as effective and interesting as possible.
Develop and/or revise lesson plans and training materials.
Observe student classroom activities and participation.
Counsel students to identify and resolve problems.

- Must be able to lift/carry items weighting 44 pounds and more unassisted.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 1712 and Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in the federal service in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while assisting in instructing students in courses related to aircraft metals technology field to include lathes, mills, drill presses; power saws and gas tungsten arch, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc and oxyacetylene welding operation; and preparing daily lesson plans; research, develop and update course material.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D in education, teaching or subject area related to the position being filled. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO VERIFY YOUR EDUCATION.

Incumbent (faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force) must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of College and Schools, Commission of Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. The degree should be in
the teaching discipline. NOTE: If the degree is not in the teaching discipline, applicants must have documented experience, course work, and/or other training in the teaching discipline.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction, training aids and devices used in training programs and of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses and computer applications.
2. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.
3. Skill in written and oral communication and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel.
4. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions and skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.
5. Knowledge, skill and ability to perform welding operations on various joints in multiple positions using gas tungsten arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal welding and oxyacetylene welding equipment is desired.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
