Duties
If you are selected as an Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software), your responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:
Resolving complex issues where governing laws and regulations are highly interpretive and/or precedents are nonexistent, obscure or conflicting when/where opportunities exist; and perform other duties as assigned.
Serving as the project manager in charge of overseeing the development of projects involving new and evolving technologies such as AI.
Managing the translation of functional and business requirements from customers and stakeholders into automated application systems and databases.
Developing all systems and databases using best programming principles and practices designed to ensure the highest software and systems quality and functionality.
Ensuring that all applications and systems are compatible with the OIG distributed technical architecture and meet all information security and information assurance requirements.
Leading a team that consults and coordinates with customers and stakeholders to identify, define, and refine business processes for the purpose of automating processes. T
Serving as the project manager in charge of overseeing the development of projects involving new and evolving technologies such as AI.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstate that they meet the Basic AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
Basic Requirement

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level obtained in the public sector. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.) Examples of specialized experience include such duties as:
Utilizing Microsoft Azure, Azure Managed Services, Azure Storage Containers, and Azure Cognitive Services as it relates to Artificial Intelligence.
Performing advanced programming with reusable object-oriented code to create application and/or web interfaces using Visual Studio 2022, ASP.Net, C#, MVC, MVVM, .NET Framework, .NET Core, HTML, CSS,
React, JSON, Angular, JQuery, JSON, Powershell, Python, JavaScript, Agile, and Data Factory.
Leading software development activities for the organization, establishing standards, and applying best practices in NET Development in both front/back-end web application design, software design patterns, service-oriented architecture (SOA), MVC, n-tier architecture, relational database design and administration.
Developing REST and Web API services using .NET and C# along with experience in using Azure Managed services, Data Factory, and Key Vault into .NET applications. making requested changes, updates, and
modifications to database infrastructure, ensuring database security, integrity, stability, system availability, and maintaining database backup and recovery infrastructure.
Analyzing the IT requirements of OIG-wide staff, developing appropriate automated solutions, and providing application and database support to customers.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
