This position is located in the Wildlife Services (WS), National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC), Pocatello Supply Depot (PSD). As a Budget Technician with responsibility for performing and conducting a variety of support work in the areas of budget and fiscal, procurement and supply, property, data processing, and program record-keeping.
Duties
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Advises and assists the Pocatello Supply Depot (PSD) Manager in the development, forecasting, and tracking of budgets for all funding sources.
Retrieves, analyzes and reviews Financial Management Modernization Initiative System (FMMI) reports and program ledger to assure they are in balance and regulations and procedures are adhered to.
Prepares and submits monthly status of funds reports to the Program Office.
Reviews fiscal and fiscal-related documents such as Cooperative Agreements, Interagency Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, and Cooperative Agreements.
Analyze historical data and collect information to determine the annual fiscal needs for the field station for use in developing operating budgets.
Assists APHIS Financial Management Division in analyzing expenditures and product sales to set pricing for PSD products each fiscal year.
Processes orders from both private citizens, and within Wildlife Services using Sage accounting and inventory system.
Procures supplies, equipment, and services by preparing requisitions in the Procurement Request in the Integration Acquisition System (IAS) and electronically transmits them to the appropriate office for processing.
Serves as office receptionist.
Maintain copies of all fiscal agreements and assure that billings and collections are proper and accurate.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
FOR THE GS-07 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level) that demonstrates:
Overseeing budget activities of an office including tracking funds distribution, reconciling commitments/obligations, and reallocating organizational funds.
Maintaining fiscal agreements and ensuring billings and collections are proper and accurate.
Maintaining inventory and preparing requisition packages when necessary.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.
