If selected for this position, you will be responsible for providing aircraft, equipment, and services to support research and development, aerial application programs, aerial surveying, and distribution of sterile insects and/or bio-control agents as needed to support agricultural pest control programs.
Duties
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Fabricates specialized equipment using accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes and various electric arc processes to weld all types of commonly used metals and alloys.
Controls the metals and the welding techniques to prevent distortion or burning of the metals, and to meet weld dimension, tolerance, strength, and other requirements.
Determines the welding techniques and machine settings to be used, assembles and sets up the parts to be welded, and makes the required welds following a variety of guides.
Makes welds in a flat or horizontal orientation and/or in more difficult positions such as vertical or overhead, depending on the process used and the requirements of the work.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
