About the Position: Serves as Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Planning Support Specialist on all U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) aspects of AT/FP. Duties

Establish relationships with outside agencies to prepare Anti-Terrorism (AT) and Force Protection (FP) events. Ensure policies adequately relate to outlined Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) program objectives. Produce risk management reports for higher headquarters review. Conduct briefings to disseminate Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) guidance to agencies. Provide mandatory training to employees to ensure workforce is aware of antiterrorism procedures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • Employee assigned to this position is designated as mission essential and assume essential personnel status during closure situations.
  • Position requires travel up to 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring anti-terrorism and/or force protection programs comply with established policy; providing feedback to help create crisis management procedures; advising personnel on existing physical security requirements; and assisting in the development of anti-terrorism and /or force protection training for organizations workforce. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: National Security, Homeland Security, and Security Management . OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Intelligence OperationsOral CommunicationPlanning and executionRisk Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
