You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN for NROTC UNIT TUCSON.

Duties

You will determine stock levels needed for recurring and non-recurring specialized items. You will review, research, and resolve non-deliveries, losses, damages, and other discrepancies. You will maintain and issue keys to authorize personnel, and conduct annual key inventory. You will serve as NROTC point of contact for government vehicles, overseeing government vehicle program. You will select best source of information, research catalogs databases to locate most cost effective supplies, new products and authorized substitutes for stock items. You will process travel claims, parking fees, tolls, uniform alterations, and textbook reimbursements for midshipmen and other student and staff. You will process travel arrangements and process resulting travel claims for unit personnel. You will maintain accurate accounting and reporting systems for non-expendable property.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • Extensive TAD travel for a 5-week period each year is required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques and methods to maintain materials and supplies; 2) Maintaining automated supply systems/programs in accordance with procedures; 3) Tracking supply budget and reporting to verify available funding for the procurement of supplies; and 4) Practicing the execution of property management procedures and material control.
