Fort McCoy operates one of the most premier Outdoor Recreation programs in the Army to include a campground and ski area. Pine View Campground includes over 170 campsites, 17 cabins, camp store and various guest rental equipment. Whitetail Ridge Ski Area is one of only three ski hills operated by the Army. Downhill skiers and snowboarders will find four runs equipped with a self-loading T-bar lift, and a full range of equipment is available for rent in the Chalet.

Duties

Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory; receives and resolves customer complaints; provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. Assists patrons in the use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instructions, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc. Plans, conducts, publicizes and arranges support for special events, social activities, tournaments, and related functions. Leads the work of other employees. Passes on to other workers instructions received from the supervisor and starts work. Distributes and balances workload assuring that each employee has enough work to keep busy. Answers questions of their employees on procedures, policies, and directives. Provides leadership, guidance and oversight in program operations. Provides on-the job training to new employees. Opens and closes the facility. Acting manager in their absence. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Position does not require a driver's license however; a driver's license is required to operate any government vehicle to include UTVs/ATVs.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Shift will vary due to mission; nights, weekends and holidays will be required.

Qualifications

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume: Work experience, which involved dealing with general public. Highly Preferred criteria: All answers to the Highly Preferred criteria must be visible in your resume to get credit. Minimum 1 year work experience leading subordinate staff.
