The incumbent will be responsible for the advisory, planning, development, and execution of agency program operations, procedures, goals, and related missions. The Incumbent evaluates and uses analytical methods and techniques to facilitate the processes of management and the organization of work for the overall mission.
Duties
As a LESSONS LEARNED ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the office of primary responsibility (OPR) for the management and implementation of the Chairman's Joint Lessons Learned Program (JLLP).'s work;
Assist the Chairman's Title 10 U.S.C. responsibility of formulating policies for gathering, developing, and disseminating joint lessons learned for the armed forces enhancing joint force capabilities by enabling learning and collaboration from joint, interagency, and multinational activities.
Prioritize and address a myriad of topics which can arise as a crisis or simultaneously across DoD from real world operations, pandemics, natural disasters, globally integrated exercises, globally integrated war games, and operational priority requests from the Joint Force Senior Leadership.
Collaborates with various DoD organizations on lessons learned input to Joint Capability Development, Joint Force Development, Joint Individual/Staff Training, Joint Exercise Program, Chairman's Exercise Program, National Exercise Program, Joint Doctrine, Joint Education, and Joint Concept Development.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Applies knowledge of the Lessons Learned Program to carry out analytical research and projects related to a variety of subjects pertaining to the Lessons Learned program;
Utilizes policies, regulations, precedents pertinent to the organizations mission, roles and functions of the Joint Staff and other agencies to carry out the assigned and administrative and management planning functions ensuring regulatory compliance;
Develops guidance and information on controversial project related management issues using Joint Lessons Learned Information System, CJCS Lessons Learned Program, and initiative; JLLD (Joint Lessons Learned Directorate) mission to respond to inquiries concerning activities of the organization and the ability to apply management and organizational practices;
Serves as the principal management advisor and effectively coordinate the interface between the division and the directorate utilizing a wide range of management and administrative actions, processes, principles, practices, theories, techniques and quantifiable methods for the evaluation and development of program effectiveness.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
