Duties

As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Performs various park maintenance tasks relative to the repair and upkeep of buildings, structures, facilities, roads and grounds. Performs multiple tasks in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and equipment and road maintenance. Removes trash and debris from roadsides. Cleans comfort stations, picnic areas, offices, and other public use areas. Performs grounds maintenance utilizing push mowers, weed eaters, riding mowers and all-terrain vehicles. Makes minor repairs to buildings and structures. Prepares surfaces for painting by sanding, buffing, and cleaning. Clears simple stoppages; replaces washers in faucets; cuts or drills previously marked holes and openings in walls or floors. Replaces fuses and light bulbs. Performs minor/routine maintenance while working with/assisting journeyman level employees in completing projects in painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and utility systems. Operates motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 GVW while carrying out duties of the position such as transporting debris, equipment, or personnel.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
