The primary purpose of this position is to ??????install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment.
Duties
Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls
Troubleshoots problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring.
Installs, overhauls, repairs, fabricates, and/or modifies various types of electronically controlled Industrial equipment characterized by moderate complexity of design, construction, and function.
Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdriver, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

- Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
- May work with hazardous materials such as asbestos or accumulated waste. Employee will be required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions.
- Makes repairs from work stands and other hard-to-reach places. Must stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts items that weigh over 40 pounds with assistance from other workers
- Works both inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather and in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy. May work on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet, or in close quarters such as manholes or attics.

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. located here
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2805. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate is someone with integrity who takes pride in their work, and is a TEAM player that will work great with others! Is proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineer drawings, and technical specifications. Strong knowledge in the electrical field; including troubleshooting, new installation, controlled industrial equipment, secondary distribution lines, circuits, panels, and alarms. Skilled in using a variety of hand/power tools, and a wide variety of electrical test equipment. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Good physical stamina and strength to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy electrical components and equipment. Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines. Adheres to National Electric Codes/guidelines for working with electricity, job-site safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
