About the Position: Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and highways.

Duties

You will plan, schedule and conduct comprehensive on-site physical security surveys, inspections and/or anti-terrorism assessments Ft Myer Joint Base Henderson. Conduct comprehensive physical security surveys, inspections and evaluations to advise managers on procedures for controlling and safeguarding information, materials and assets. Analyze and evaluate physical security systems and procedures in administrative, technical, scholastic and scientific organizations and facilities which have or need protection systems. Prepare comprehensive written reports on survey and inspection findings and recommendations. Conduct physical security inspections and security engineering anti-terrorism assessments of construction proposals. Review contract proposals for construction and modification to buildings to ensure that adequate and appropriate security safeguards are included in plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
