About the Position: This position is located in Fort Carson, Colorado with the Army Contracting Command Mission & Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Carson Division.
Duties
Provides an expert level of procurement analyst support for procurements involving highly specialized, complex services contracts of significant importance to the customers.
Analyzes trends to alerts management to any emerging problems; and makes recommendations based on trends revealed by the metrics.
Provides both contracting-related and non-contracting information, briefings, and training as required to include written and oral responses to satisfy reports, statistical, and other inquiries, and customer education.
Plans, develops and establishes the procurement objectives and contractual strategy for acquisition programs aligned with the operational contracting support mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Professional within 36 months of entrance on duty in accordance with the DoDI 5000.66, change 3.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as; 1) Providing acquisition and/or contracting advice or assistance 2) Planning and executing procurement analysis/reviews of contracting documents and files; and 3) Analyzing and interpreting acquisition laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements, and resolving issues and/or problems associated with contract operations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
In addition to meeting the experience, the following Basic education requirement must be met:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.

Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) you are a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000.You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
