About the Position: This position is with the Operations and Training Department at Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Conduct inspections of Physical security measures to ensure compliance and identify deficiencies.
Use regulatory data sources to determine whether employment of persons is consistent with national policies.
Develop recommendations and training to ensure regulatory compliance with security programs.
Prepare security clearance documentation for submission to investigative agencies.
Brief employees and senior personnel regarding responsibilities associated with sensitive material handling
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
- Must become Level II Antiterrorism Force Protection Certified.
- Must become Level II OPSEC certified.
- Must attain SPeD certification within 180 days.
- Must attain Conventional Physical Security Course certification.
- Heavy Lifting (in excess of 45 pounds) may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documented experience Initiating, coordinating, processing, and adjudicating background investigations; conducting inspections to identify security vulnerabilities; and demonstrated experience researching and interpreting regulatory guidance related to Federal personnel security procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
