You will serve as a Writer-Editor in the Safety Promotions Department of NAVSAFECOM.

Duties
You will write articles and/or edit and rewrite submissions from contributors ranging from informative news items to full-length feature stories.
You will gather, develop and check the accuracy of information through research and skilled interview techniques with subject matter experts.
You will Provide layout and design creative, informative and readable media products such as one-pagers, newsletters or magazines.
You will create visually appealing print and web content that is attractive and effective using software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign.
You will assist webmaster by helping improve the appearance and functionality of web content for seasonal campaigns and other aspects of safety promotions.
You will research and write concise, easily read products for a broad audience with a conversational tone through various channels including websites, emails and print media.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience developing, analyzing, and selecting appropriate information and presenting the information in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1.) Producing creative, informative, and readable media products; 2.) Creating visually appealing web content that is attractive and effective using software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign; 3) Providing layout and design creative, informative and readable media products such as one-pagers, newsletters or magazines; 4) Researching and writing concise, easily readable products for a broad audience with a conversational tone through various channels including websites, emails and print media; and 5) Engaging contributing writers and technical advisors in identifying the needs of magazine readers, web visitors, or any other audience.
