Duties

You will collect, create, analyze, synthesize data relevant to warfighting-systems, platforms, group level performances, and tactics for US Navy, Joint Services, Allies, and Partners, as well as adversaries. You will communicate methods, findings, and recommendations to leadership through briefings and technical memoranda to leadership. You will execute assigned strategic, organizational, and functional development, and implementation tasks for all special programs; participate in industry-leading strategies and evaluate policy and budget decisions. You will deal with representatives to provide data and information of a technical scientific nature on matters affecting Lethal Fires of Navy Sea Power programs, systems, tactics, and study coordination. You will provide technically sound solutions that effectively address complex problems associated with integrated and stand-alone systems operating in all domains.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirement for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing expert knowledge and skill in applying advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical theories, principles, concepts, methods, and techniques to solve problems in need of immediate solution. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Demonstrated experience in coordinating activities throughout the life-cycle of analytic studies. 2) In-depth knowledge of two or more Seapower capability areas, such as: Tactical Air Warfare (TACAIR); Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD); Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW); Strike Warfare (STK); Electronic Warfare (EW); Expeditionary Warfare (ExW); and Logistics. 3) Demonstrated experience conducting studies and assessments to inform resource allocation and/or leadership decisions. 4) Demonstrated experience applying new hypotheses and concepts to improve effectiveness and efficiency of Navy warfighting operations. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirement of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
