About the Position: Serves as the installation's professional engineering authority in structural engineering in the Directorate of Public Works (DPW).
Duties
Evaluates structural engineering design objectives, analyzes the nature and scope of projects, and makes feasibility studies.
Reviews work of architect-engineering firms or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to ensure design excellence and compliance with building/Life Safety Codes, Army requirements, and arctic engineering considerations.
Provides technical assistance by serving as the point of contact and source of expertise for the DPW Engineering Division on the structural aspects of design and construction projects and real property management.
Assists administering construction contracts for projects, and makes recommendations to the Contracting Officer concerning contract amendments, modifications and contractor claims against the Government.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and retain any installation and/or DOD license required to operate light motor vehicles to and from work sites.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
