Duties

Incumbent reports to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work. The program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment. Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget and on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. Properly communicates any needs or problems related to the maintenance or repair of equipment to supervisor. Schedules, assigns, and directs the work of subordinate employees. Trains subordinate employees to perform their assigned duties. Inspects diagnoses and may conduct repairs on various types of golf course maintenance equipment (diesel and electric golf carts, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers) and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.

• Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include weekends, holidays and early mornings.

Qualifications

1. Three (3) years of work experience that includes repair of failing equipment; repair work on golf course maintenance equipment (diesel & electric golf carts, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers); and instructing or training others in preventative maintenance, proper cleaning and safe operation of golf course equipment; purchasing parts and supplies, etc.). 2. Work experience that provided the knowledge of golf course hazards and safety precautions. 3. The ability to drive diverse type vehicles on uneven terrain. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. Highly Preferred Criteria: Experience that has provided you with knowledge of Toro (reel)-type cutting, unit sharpening and adjustment AND Turf Equipment Technician education/certification (ex: Equipment Manager Certificate Program (EMCP); Certified Turf Equipment Manager (CTEM). The experience/education/certification must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript/certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.
