About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, in Fort Johnson, Louisiana.
This position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Internal Army employees may also apply under Announcement Number MCGK241691264489 to be considered for a time limited assignment.
Duties
Perform inspections of the Logistics Readiness Centers to ensure compliance with regulations in a variety of areas such as supply and service activities, ammunition supply, maintenance, and transportation, and food services.
Perform quality inspections of equipment and historical records to ensure compliance with regulations.
Administer and evaluate various segments of a complex and comprehensive logistics Quality Assurance program designed to ensure that contractors meet their responsibility for product quality and/or services in their respective areas.
Conduct on site evaluations at all stages of work performance from initial entry into the process, work-in-progress, and/or complete process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is designated as a “Key” position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization’s ability to function effectively.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position may require the incumbent to Travel (TDY) up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting evaluations and inspections of a quality assurance program relating to a variety of areas (i.e. supply and service, ammunition supply, maintenance, transportation, food service, etc.); 2) Evaluating contractor performance; and 3) Performing quality inspections of equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
