Duties

The working title for this position is Senior Electronics Technician. As a Senior Electronics Technician, you will perform the following duties: Acts as the point of contact for the development of repair depot troubleshooting and repair procedures for new and/or existing equipment assigned to the Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) Repair Branch. Develop test procedures, improvements, and alterations to fixtures of sophisticated technical equipment, instruments or software utilized by the NEXRAD Repair Branch. Manage the workflow of parts inspected or repaired, including in-house and vendor repairs for the NEXRAD Repair Branch. Assign work to staff members in the unit, providing technical guidance and training, and collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve the reliability of NEXRAD system parts. Troubleshooting and repair of assigned NEXRAD parts.

Applicant must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing systems and equipment Work with a team of technicians, supporting project implementation and technical duties; and Use schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in depot level duties such as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment.
