About the Position: This position is with the Department of Defense Education Activity, located in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in the Southeast District. The Administrative Officer service as Chief, Management Support Office, in the assigned school. Incumbent must be conversant with the full variety of school management support functions, to include a comprehensive knowledge of civilian personnel, budget, manpower, management analysis, and force structure management.

Duties

Prepare reports using the information management system for school administration and personnel. Administer the student registration, student attendance, academic records maintenance, tuition status, and other related processes. Evaluate and recommend ways to improve the utilization of available resources and improve administrative management services. Develop administrative programs to manage manpower requirements. Plan, manage and direct annual budget to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Develop long range plans and budget estimates concerning the school programs and operations. Manage all facility programs and maintenance to regulatory standards. Perform first line supervisory responsibilities over a staff of technicians.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • One-year supervisory probation period may be required.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.

OR Combination of education and experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementFinancial ManagementHuman Resources ManagementPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
