This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (MI 217 AOG), Position Description Number NGD1510P01 and is part of the MI 110 Airlift Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.
Duties
***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
This position is located in the Air National Guard (ANG), Component Numbered Air Force (cNAF), Air Operations Group (AOG), Air Intelligence Squadron (AIS). The purpose of the position is to organize, and produce intelligence augmentation products for and in concert with the Gaining Command's Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) and to train assigned military Intelligence Squadron members in the duties and functions associated with the intelligence organization in the Gaining Command AOC. The incumbent provides guidance to AIS and AOC Intelligence specialists and is able to advise the AIS Commander, and other AOG commanders on Intelligence issues related to their area of responsibility (AOR). In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of all pertinent threat weapons systems and geopolitical conditions, and masters and trains the unit's traditional guardsmen on AOC Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division (ISRD) processes and systems. Due to the unique mission of the cNAF, this PD cannot be used in any other organization.
1. Assures the Intelligence Squadron maintains a capability to provide appropriate Gaining Command entities with timely fused intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel, during peace time operations. Administers daily targeting, collections, and analysis of the assigned portion of the Gaining Command Area of Responsibility (AOR).
2. Coordinates intelligence participation in appropriate exercises for force-level AOC training. Supports active participation in Gaining Command crisis action planning to include both pre-exercise and real world contingencies.
3. Coordinates with Gaining Command ISRD training requirements, which encompass separate and distinct specialties in the Intelligence career field. Plans and develops objectives and work schedules for assigned intelligence personnel during Unit Training Assemblies (UTA), Annual Training (AT), and unit deployments.
4. Determines the best course of action regarding sensor use in collections, enemy strengths and capabilities in analysis, and command and control centers of gravity in targeting. Identifies the best techniques to utilize in order to achieve the desired results.
5. Conducts research and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations. Briefs analysis findings and estimates to superiors, planners, and policy makers.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Experience storing, controlling, destroying and accounting for classified documents. Performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations. Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies. Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job. Experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
