This position serves as Transportation Assistant to the Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC). The Team's goal is to provide assistance to the field by leading the transformation of Purchased Care business practices, implement health benefits policy, and to support the delivery of quality health care.

Duties

Who may apply: All current, permanent employees within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) eligibles within the VA. Applicants will be considered in the following order: 1st Area of Consideration (AOC): Well Qualified CTAP eligibles. 2nd AOC: Facility/Station 135, Integrated Veteran Care. 3rd AOC: Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA) Employees. 4th AOC: Agency Employees within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Major duties include (but are not limited to): Serves as Transportation Assistant with responsibilities of managing, monitoring, and reconciling travel accounts and coordinating the U.S Bank Visa Travel Card Program for IVC. Reviews requests for reimbursement of travel costs for the purpose of assuring compliance with established policies, regulations and procedures. Serves as the primary point of contact for analyzes and travel expense audits. Evaluates the effectiveness of program support areas related to travel reporting, technical reporting and file management. Identifies the nature of the request, problem, or issue, and determines the need for and obtains additional information through oral or written contacts and review of regulations and manuals. Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/22/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade of a GS-06 position. To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the grade GS-6 level in Federal service to qualify at the grade GS-07. To be minimally qualified for this position at the GS-07 level, you must meet 3 of the 5 experience listed below. Specialized experience is: Reviews travel orders and applicable regulations to determine entitlements and authorized methods of travel. Provides subject-matter assistance in the development of automated transportation procedures for clerical operations. Utilizes U.S Bank System, or the Veterans Health Information Systems & Technology Architecture (VISTA), or The Financial Management System (FMS) and/or a Travel System. Reviews travel orders and applicable regulations to determine entitlements and authorized methods of travel. Ensures complete and accurate travel documentation assuring the timely movement of passengers to specific destinations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but occasionally requires carrying of light objects, walking, standing and bending. No special physical qualifications are required.
