About the Position: Responsible for the performance of a variety of duties incidental to the receipt, storage, and issue of supplies and equipment, including warehousing, forklift truck and motor vehicle operation. Operates a variety of gasoline, diesel or electric powered wheeled vehicles and performs maintenance and repairs of Field Training Exercise (FTX) equipment and training devices.
Duties
Works alone or with other employees inside the US Army Intelligence Center of Excellence, 111th MI Brigade warehouse.
Loads and off-loads trucks; counts and verifies quantities; selects and assembles items for issue or transfer; moves items to designated storage location in open bays; stacks and relocates item within the warehouse by hand or use of forklift truck.
Operates forklifts capable of lifting up to 25,000 pounds up to heights of 198 inches.
Drives one or more trucks, such as platform trucks, van trucks, or stake trucks, which typically have a gross vehicle weight more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds, on public roads at highway speeds.
Independently performs maintenance and repairs such as repairing FTX equipment (paintball guns, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) kits and all training equipment issued by warehouse).
Maintains and services power tools such as weed eaters, chainsaws, mowers and generators.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 2 background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift certification.
- Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds without assistance. May be required to occasionally handle items over 50 pounds.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (FLO/MVO) without more than normal supervision. Must have the ability to perform common Materials Handler tasks as demonstrated by the ability to check items for accountability with quantity and identity shown on transaction documents; moving crated materials on pallets, three or four high; operating or using materials handling equipment to move items and load vehicles; locating, storing, shipping, and re-warehousing materials; selecting and setting up storage areas for materials considering size, shape, quantity, and use; assemble items for shipment or issue; inspecting items for overages, shortages, or damages. Work is performed under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Works on hard surfaces and performs duties that require standing, stooping, walking, bending, and heavy lifting although other employees and materials-handling equipment are normally available. Frequently moves and carries bulky and heavy items up to 80-100 pounds without assistance because of space restrictions. The work requires manual dexterity in operating vehicle controls, and good distance perception in operating forklift trucks within constricted areas and in stacking item.
Working Conditions: Works inside and outside in all weather conditions. Delivery schedules ordinarily are revised in the event of severe road and weather conditions that make delivery unusually hazardous and/or would cause damage to cargo. Employee is subject to injury from dropped or falling items, vehicle accidents, and strains and falls while handling heavy items. Work may require wearing protective equipment such as hardhats, steel toed shoes, safety glasses etc.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
