Duties

You will route and expedite the movement of materials and equipment to meet schedules, deadlines and priorities by tracking critical, urgently needed requirements. You will follow up on overdue orders by contacting the vendor. You will receive, inspect and accept material and supplies to verify shipments and deliveries are complete and accurate, and material is in good condition. You will perform spot checks and cycle counts to determine accuracy of an inventory.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator License certification.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Using Public Works facilities related materials and equipment, utilities and transportation services to accurately identify material and equipment, expedite orders and recommend acceptable substitutes to meet critical deadlines; 2) Organizing and arranging stock in a storage area to provide maximum convenience of handling, safety considerations, and effective usage of spaces; 3) Organizing items on pallets to ensure damage in storage or in transit is prevented; 4) Operating various material handling equipment in a confined area, to include forklifts up to and including 10,000 pounds.
