This position is located in the Facility Management Division. This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service. Open to the first 125 applicants or until 07/26/2024 whichever comes first. Duties

Major Duties- Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and related utilities. Cleans and services chemical toilets, restrooms, and other campground or other visitor facilities. Performs minor plumbing and painting according to specific instructions Assists a higher graded maintenance worker or tradesman in the performance of their work. Operates a light truck to pick up supplies and transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on projects. Physical Effort- Works from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions- Work is performed inside and outside where dirt, spray, and fumes are present. Also required to work in inclement weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic). Use of Measuring Equipment. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading). Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment. Knowledge of Materials.
