You will serve as a INSPECTIONS AND INVESTIGATIONS SPECIALIST in the COMMAND HEADQUARTERS OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will serve as the principal assistant to the Command Inspector General (CIG) in conducting headquarters and subordinate command inspections. You will process investigations and inquiries involving Fraud, Waste, Abuse of Authority, and Mismanagement (FWAM). You will provides support to the CIG, Commanding General (CG), and subordinate commands in promoting readiness, integrity, efficiency, effectiveness, and credibility. You will advise the CIG, MCLC on all matters pertaining to the peace, security, management, and preparedness of all MCLC personnel. You will be responsible for leading in the development and execution of annual inspection schedules for the MCLC CGIP. You will manage MCLC readiness inspection program directives ensuring that they meet Service readiness inspection program requirements. You will coordinate directly with the appropriate Director/ Assistant Chief of Staff {AC/S) of each MCLC department prior to each subordinate inspection to ensure that subject matter expert (SME) inspectors are available. You will assist the CIG by conducting and processing of inspections and investigations, to substantiate alleged or suspected instances or patterns of non-compliance. You will be responsible for supporting active and diverse programs under the MCLC CIG, including: FWAM, IG Hotline complaints, and assistance with Congressional inquiries. You will participate in the development of procedures for CIG review, inquiries, and investigations.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: having knowledge of Inspector General Case Action Manager (IGCAM) and all function area checklists and know what the main area of focus for Command Inspector Generals are Fraud, Waste, Abuse, Mismanagement and Misconduct (FWAM). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
