Duties
Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the development, execution, and coordination of all priorities, programs, projects, and initiatives within the Oklahoma-Texas Area Office (OTAO) operational area.
Serves as a member of the Regional Leadership Board, which works collaboratively to provide leadership for the region and accomplish the mission of the region and Reclamation.
Determines and manages organizational framework and resources necessary to accomplish area office mission priorities, programs, projects, and objectives.
Advises regional, Reclamation, Departmental and other leaders on opportunities, challenges, and recommended solutions to meet the water and related resource needs across the OTAO.
Represents the region and Reclamation in collaborative and proactive engagement with federal, state, tribal, and local partners, and leaders-including government officials, water planners and operators, non-profit organizations, recreation interests, the public, etc.
Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-13 level in federal service having demonstrated experience: Providing expert technical guidance on matters concerning water resource management including one or more of the following functional areas: water or reservoir operations; operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of water-related infrastructure; hydrologic modeling, planning or studies; negotiation or execution of repayment contracts; cultural, archeological, or historical resource management; or recreation management. Experience must include guiding development of program or project objectives; ensuring products and services meet objectives and timeline; and collaborating with stakeholders such as state and local partners, congressional offices, senior leadership and staff, or Administration officials.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
