About the Position: Directorate of Emergency Services, Ft. Benning, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.

Duties

Devise procedures to streamline and improve cost effectiveness of emergency vehicle fleet operation. Dispatch a wide variety of vehicles and/or equipment. Maintain individual vehicles within specified time frames per General Service Administration (GSA) standards. Assign qualified operators to the vehicles as necessary, making sure that the operator possesses the required license. Prepare dispatch log with dispatch and accounting data to properly assign a vehicle. Direct the accumulation of data and preparation of reports. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates. Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed.

  • Supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Secret security clearance is required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
