You will serve as a EVENT COORDINATOR in the REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, UNDER THE DEAN, ADMISSIONS AND BUSINESS OPERTIONS of DDHBAP ASIA PACIFIC CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES.

Duties

You will support development of event agenda, seeing it through, from all logistical planning stages to its full successful conclusion and wrap-up reporting. You will plan, develop, and consolidate a tailored comprehensive logistics checklist for events being hosted by the Center. You will track and compile event registration information and prepare participant lists and reports for dissemination to higher echelon and all parties relevant to the event. You will establish and coordinate support facilities and room set-ups, food services, audio-visual plans, supplies, printing requirements, and all other event related logistics. You will maintain, track, and report all iterations of the event budget and spending plan through execution. You will ensure all fiscal expenditures for an event are within given Department of Defense guidelines. You will provide oversight and quality control for the Regional Centers' Personnel Accounting Management System (RCPAMS) database for all events coordinated within the department. You will monitor database entries to ensure department is ready for accurate and timely data calls and historical records pertaining to events coordinated by the department.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and coordinating invitation strategies, event registration, support facilities, and technological support for an organization's events. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree, must be related to this position being filled.
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
