You will serve as a Assistant Production Shop Planner (Machinist) in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will assist production shop planners in the operation of major and minor control over the flow of materials during the manufacture or repair of parts and components. You will support the efforts of production through the processing of information, movement of parts through the manufacturing or repair process and the performance of quality control checks. You will provide assurance of accuracy and/or conformance to specifications of manufactured or repaired items and supporting documentation. You will identify the need for re-work and initiate action to obtain new material and direction for remanufacture or repair. You will assist the shop planner by managing work packages.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
