You will serve as a Supervisory Program Analyst in the Travel Office of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will provide leadership to maintain an effective and productive workforce and ensure a continuous flow and exchange of information between employees. You will develop, refine and implement travel policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations applied to Temporary Duty (TDY) travel and civilian Permanent Change of duty Station (PCS) travel. You will oversee the management of DTS, a fully integrated, automated, end-to-end travel management systems that enables travelers to create travel authorizations, make reservations, and generate travel vouchers. You will provide essential guidance and support for all international travelers.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing interpretive and analytical advice on travel procedures, practices, directives, and program execution; 2) Conducting special studies to resolve current or projected issues and recommending local policy and procedural changes to improve program effectiveness; 3) Overseeing internal travel reviewing requests for advance decisions on per diem, travel, transportation allowances, and overseas station allowances ; and 4) Leading a project or a team, setting priorities, assigning work, and overseeing general administrative issues.
