This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Navajo Region in Gallup, New Mexico.
This position exercises delegated authority to carry out program functions and services that constitute the essential purpose for the establishment and continuation of the mission of the Bureau/Office.

Duties
Serves as a senior advisor to management and executive leadership on developing and implementing strategic plans in support of achieving the program objectives.
Serves as a line officer in charge of the administration of Indian Affairs for a region or Agency.
Direct the planning, coordination, and execution of all activities pertinent to the kind and scope of programs and services to be provided by the Agency.
Exercised significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other organizations and in advising senior leadership.
Represents the Bureau/Office for the program overseen and is the designated official for upholding and discharging the responsibilities pertaining the laws corresponding with the program.
Maintains the official relationship of the Federal government with tribal leaders in the Government-to-Government relationships.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management, Program Manager, GS-0340.)
GS-15: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of experience include managing the following program(s) listed under Deputy Regional Director-Indian Services. Which involved providing supervision and oversight of program(s) that entail the mission, functions, projects, activities, laws, rules and regulations for which the Bureau/Office is authorized and funded by statue to administration and enforce. Coordinates and provide management oversight of the daily operations and special projects involving multiple federal government programs pertaining to trust services, Alaskan Native and Indian services.
