You will serve as a SCIENTIST in the Navy Continuous Training Environment of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.
Duties
You will serve as a government-side Software Engineer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software engineering support to the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
You will lead project execution, engineering, analysis and technical writing in support of Navy Training Baseline (NTB) and NCTE capabilities and systems to meet war-fighter and Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of the Navy (DON) requirements.
You will oversee engineering for the NTB software and systems.
You will produce software and system solutions to meet user training requirements based on engineering, fiscal, operational, and information assurance guidelines, and resource availability.
You will provide guidance and leadership to assist the engineering contractor to fulfill software support requirements of the NCTE.
You will plan for, develop, and execute acceptance testing on internal and external projects to ensure the end product meets the Fleet user training requirements.
You will work within a teaming environment in the Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Engineering Department engineering community and interfaces with sponsors, civilians, contractors, other warfare centers, and customers.
You will be responsible for working with NCTE sites, sponsors, and the program office to help procure, accept, and integrate new software systems on the NCTE.
You will project manage for field engineering software projects that impact multiple sites, complexes, and op areas.
You will work directly with NCTE engineers to develop software tasking.
You will respond to feedback, recommendations, and observations provided by the NCTE engineers.
You will work assigned projects to meet sponsor and customer requirements.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Software Developer, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional computer scientist providing software engineering support, project execution, and technical writing to oversee software solutions, guide contractors, conduct acceptance testing, or integrate new software systems in order to meet war-fighter needs for effective fleet training.

Applicants must possess:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science
- OR
- A Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
