This vacancy is for a Data Scientist position in the Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs located in Washington, D.C.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Data Scientist, ZP-1560-3, FPL ZP-3 positions within the Bureau of Economic Analysis in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Duties
Serve as a data consultant within OUSEA to manage data projects to include data collection and analysis and developing data visualizations.
Coordinates project activities including coordinating and communicating with stakeholders, project execution, and communicating project results, activities, or accomplishments.

Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirement:
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
AND
Specialized Experience: For the Band III (GS-11), you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Band II (GS-9) in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes analyzing large datasets using statistical software such as Stata, R, JavaScript, and/or Python, experience coordinating with stakeholders on data projects, experience communicating results and creating data visualizations.
OR
Education: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
