The Authorization Quality Review Specialist (AQRS) is a part of the Veterans Service Center's quality assurance program, and serves as a technical adviser to the Veterans Service Representatives (VSRs), in the Regional Office. ................This announcement will be removed from USAJOBS when 50 applications has been received............

Duties

Specific duties are as follows: The Authorization Quality Review Specialist is responsible for performing quality reviews for individual VSRs in accordance with an established monthly schedule. Results of station reviews will indicate the authorization quality level for the station. Some of the cases reviewed for the station will be subject to Central Office STAR review. The Authorization Quality Review Specialist performs individual quality reviews to determine the authorization quality level of individual VSRs for purposes of individual performance standards. The incumbent tracks and analyzes all authorization quality exceptions for the station and for individuals, to include exceptions called by Central Office. The Authorization Quality Review Specialist is responsible for sharing authorization quality trend information with management on an ongoing basis and with the VSRs during training sessions. The individual develops reports and discusses report findings with the Veterans Service Center Manager, Coaches, and employees on a routine basis. Maintains secure records showing the cases reviewed and the types and number of errors found as required by the performance standards. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/22/2024. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include: Working with federal laws pertaining to compensation and pension and VA regulations and procedures to accurately adjudicate and authorize claims; Working with state laws involving dependency status, social services programs, Medicaid, special income-based local, state and federal programs; and Evaluating and identifying deficiencies of all elements of a claim from evidence development, income and dependency issues to award processing and authorization. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. For work in the federal service, include the grade level for the position(s). Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
